Joseph, unlike his grandfather Isaac and his father Jacob, showed a very consistent life of faith. He is the most Christ-like man in the Old Testament. This can be said because Scripture does not record any of Joseph's sins, though he certainly had some.
There are striking similarities between Joseph and Jesus: despised and rejected by their own people, a “suffering servant”, falsely accused and punished, and through his suffering God exalted him and saved the lives of many people. For these reasons, 25% of the Book of Genesis is devoted to Joseph – he is majorly important.
