Habakkuk had a front-row seat for what was going on in Judah. He ministered in a time when God’s people (as a nation) were self-destructing. They were worshiping false gods and neglecting the One True God. The people were wicked and arrogant. Habakkuk knew that if they didn’t change their ways, God would put a stop to it and bring judgment on them – it was a desperate time.

Yet it seems that Habakkuk was the only one paying attention. He wanted God to step in and do something, to save them from themselves – but it didn’t seem that God was doing anything.

This book ultimately points to Jesus, the Son of God, who entered this sinful human race that deserved the judgment of God, and took that judgment for us when He went to the cross…but that was still a long way off.

As Habakkuk struggles to make sense of it all, he finds the LIFE IS HARD - GOD IS GOOD! Find Habakkuk 1:1-2:4.
