Building Rock-Solid Homes

As a famous boxer once said, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face, then they are just trying to survive."

When we are young, we dream of eventually having the perfect marriage and family. But then we get married and realize that we married an actual human being with all their flaws. We have children and we realize they too are not the perfect little angels we dreamed of years before. When it comes to life in general, but especially when thinking about marriage and raising children, reality often doesn’t turn out like we dreamed and there it is…the punch in the face.

But thankfully we serve a God who loves us so much that He doesn’t just want us to survive – He wants us to thrive. He promises that He will give those who love Him an abundant life that points to Him through rock-solid homes.

Let’s look at Matthew 7:24-27 and see how Jesus tells us to build our homes on the Rock of our Salvation.
