The Women at the Empty Tomb

For the past 24 sessions, we have studied the Gospel of Mark together. We’ve watched Jesus heal the sick, cast out demons, calm storms, and teach with authority. We’ve seen Him face opposition from religious leaders, endure betrayal from His own disciples, and suffer crucifixion on a Roman cross.

Now we arrive at the moment that changes everything – the empty tomb. Mark’s account of the resurrection is the shortest of all four gospels. He skips other details and gets right to the facts.

We are going to read just the first 8 verses of Mark 16. This contains the most powerful message in human history: Jesus has risen from the dead. And in those 8 verses, Mark shows us 3 transformations that happen when you encounter the empty tomb.
