How to Kill a God-Thing

Lately what has been going on at First Baptist Church is definitely a God-thing…people walking in off the street and getting saved; prayers answered for marriages; uncommonly effective ministry projects and many saved at Upward Sports Awards Night!

2 Chronicles 16:9a says, "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him". According to these verses, we can get ourselves into a position for a God thing to happen among us, and we can keep ourselves in a position for a God thing to be sustained – and that is what we should seek.

Let’s look at Nehemiah 13 and see how Nehemiah and the people of Judah were able to accomplish nothing less than a God thing!
