Have you ever stopped to think what goes on behind the scenes at First Baptist Church Sevierville? Who keeps our campus in good working order? What happens when something vital (such as heating or air conditioning) quits working at 6:00 am on Sunday morning? Who performs the daily housekeeping duties that keep our facilities looking so neat and tidy? Who sets up the tables for our Wednesday night fellowship meal and every other event that occurs at FBCS? Who fills the baptistery so that we can experience the joy of seeing folks follow the Lord in baptism?
The answer to all those questions and many more is…our Maintenance staff. The goal of our Maintenance Department is to support and serve the staff and members of FBCS, while maintaining the campus facilities in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord. Their excellent work is evidenced throughout our campus. This team of dedicated folks is led by Building Operations Supervisor, Larry Ogle. You don’t have to talk with Larry for more than a few minutes to discover what a servant’s heart he has. Larry does not know the meaning of “that can’t be done.” His willingness to serve, and his joy in doing so, brings to life Matthew 19:26, “…With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Larry manages ten full-time employees: Harry Geilenkirchen, Jerry Gibson, Leroy Grayson, Larry Kelly, Colleen Proffitt, Zach Rosenthal, Logan Shults, Bob Stolz, and Rodney Whitehead. Be sure to thank Larry and his staff for their dedication and service.
