Prayer Ministry"My house shall be called a house of prayer." Matthew 21:13
FBC's Prayer Ministry is the cornerstone for all other ministries and programs in our church. Prayer is commanded throughout the Bible. Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Intercessory prayer focuses on the needs and concerns of others and is a Biblical priority. 1 Timothy 2:1 states, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.”
How exciting to know that Our Father in Heaven longs to hear our voice and eagerly waits for us to commune with Him! And what an honor and privilege to come before Him on behalf of our brothers and sisters who are hurting! This intercessory ministry gives our members an organized way to pray for church family, staff, and people not only in Sevier County but around the world. Whether praying directly with our Intercessors, receiving a prayer-gram through the mail or getting an encouraging e-mail, lives are touched by this ministry.
In the prayer room are several areas designated for specific prayer needs. Bulletin boards line the walls with individual requests. Areas include: military, missionaries, general prayer requests, names of those needing salvation and, of course, a big praise board for answered prayers because our God is still in the miracle-working business.
Matthew 6:6 says, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” The Prayer Room at FBC is equipped with a prayer closet for use by the intercessors.
If you have a prayer request or would like to have someone pray with you, please call our Prayer Room at (865) 429-PRAY or email us at email@example.com. FBC’s Prayer Ministry has one part-time employee and numerous volunteers. If you are a member of our church and would like to become a Prayer Ministry Volunteer, please contact us for further details.
Prayer requests may also be made by using the C.A.R.E. card which is available at the Welcome Center and during each worship service. These requests will be prayed over and handled by the CARE Ministry. Visit the CARE Ministry tab for additional information.
